The Paintings of Loretto, 2023 Acrylic on Canvas
Work created during my 2023 Loretto Motherhouse Residency funded by the Kentucky Foundation for Women. I was invited to live in a small studio space on a campus with nuns amongst the nature in Central Kentucky. Daily walks around the campus, a digital detox, books read from a sculptors library, and minimal sounds except for a the door open to the native plant meadows and the public radio stations classical channel played - the solitude of thought and presence helped to create these spontaneous works that focus on form and color. Meditations on the present moment. A focus on paying attention to what I pay attention to.
